Anemone Charity Fundraiser Wax Carving Workshop | Stirchley
April's Cut Flower Wax Carving Workshop theme - the Anemone Coronaria.
The 'Anemone coronaria’ poppy variety grows in abundance in the fields of Palestine during the spring months. For a long time, it has represented the relationship between Palestinians and their land.
The flower has all three colours of the Palestinian flag and for Palestinians, it also symbolises bitter memories of bloodshed during wars and is often depicted in Palestinian art and literature.
This is a charity fundraiser event which will see all profits from the ticket price donated to Medical Aid for Palestine.
“Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. We provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.“
MAP is a registered charity 1045315.

Ticket includes one brass casting
After carving your wax sculpture, it will be cast into your choice of brass or silver in the Jewellery Quarter.
The after process takes approximately 4 weeks. Collect your flower from the venue or have it posted to you.
Every workshop will see a different theme, allowing you to create your very own hand carved cut flower collection to scatter amongst your pots.
Venue access information is available here: www.theoldpostoffice.space/access
Thank you to Kerry at The Old Post Office Stirchley for facilitating this event, allowing more funds to be donated. There are 12 tickets available, I hope to raise a target of £500+. The casting bill will be covered then the rest donated. As this is a larger group, I shall have some extra hands to help us all along.

Carved By You - Finished By Me
After you have carved your flower in wax, it is cast into your choice of brass or silver in the Jewellery Quarter.
I will then add a short, medium or long stem to make it ornamental or turn it in to a brooch, ring, or pendant.
