A relaxed music social and open deck session for local selectors, vinyl enthusiasts, and music lovers. All genres, all formats, and all skill levels welcome.
Welcome to Open Decks
Open Decks is a casual, inclusive gathering built around a shared love of music, records, and sound.
Whether you’ve been mixing for years, have just bought your first pair of decks, or simply love discovering new music and hanging out with local sound lovers, this space is open to you. There’s no ego, no music snobbery, and no genre restrictions—just a friendly atmosphere to share tracks, practice, and listen.
How It Works (For Selectors / DJs):

Format: Vinyl (33/45 RPM) & Digital (USB via Rekordbox / Pioneer setup).

Slot Length: [e.g. 20–30 minute mini-sets] per selector, depending on numbers.

How to Play: Sign up for a time slot on the board when you arrive. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

What to Play: Deep house, tribal, jazz, folk, techno, ambient, reggae, soul, world, experimental, or obscure b-sides—play whatever moves you or whatever you’ve been dying to test out on a good set of speakers.
Not a DJ? You Are Very Welcome Too!
You don’t need to play music to come along. Open Decks is equally a music social—a spot to grab a drink, relax, meet friendly people, and enjoy a curated soundtrack provided by your local community.

If you are local to Birmingham and able to visit my workshop, you are welcome to visit in person by appointment.
Most pieces are made to order but I do carry a small stock of pieces for craft fairs & events. If you are interested in a seeing a specific piece, please do get in touch.

I carry a small stock of made up pieces for craft fairs and events. These are available for dispatch within one to three days.
If the jewellery needs to be made from scratch, this usually takes one to three weeks. To allow time for casting, finishing, assembly and in some cases hallmarking.
If you require the jewellery for a specific important date please do let me know in advance so I can make sure it reaches you in plenty of time.

My jewellery is hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office with the famous Birmingham anchor and my makers mark 'ELI'.
*However please note the following legal weight thresholds :
If the item is silver and weighs less than 7.78g and if gold weighing less than 1g, the item is exempt from hallmarking.
If you would like a hallmark on your jewellery and it weighs less than these thresholds, I can hallmark the item for you at extra charge of £15.
