The Rhythm of My Craft

The Cadence Collection was born from those moments where I find a stillness within the noise. It’s the result of feeling music that moves my soul and entering a deep, meditative state through the absolute intricacy of tiny, precise mark-making. In my Ludlow workshop, everything but the metal and the music melts away as I hand-engrave every pattern and hand-set every stone.

Each Cadence ring is bespoke and made-to-order by my own hands, ensuring that your piece is as unique as the rhythm it represents. These are not mass-produced; they are hand-carved stories, using traditional tools and methods I’ve spent years honing.

The Composition

Each piece begins with absolute precision - clean lines and sharp settings that require intense, unwavering focus. But once that foundation is laid, it’s time to add soul.

Melted spheres from my scrap pot become the beat. Each is placed by eye rather than ruler. There is a beauty in the subtle shift of a note - the intentional release from a perfect grid to find a more human timing.

The Scribble Over A Masterpiece

To finish, I stamp the edges of the ring to force a rippled, distorted texture. It is a deliberate act of creative rebellion - a moment of vandalism that breaks the restraint of the setting process to find something more honest beneath.

Just like a record with its own unique crackle and hiss, your ring carries the marks of its making. If it were wholly perfect, the soul would be missing.

Choosing Your Size

I list sizes I through Q as standard here on the site.

  • Need a half-size or a size not listed? I can create any size you need! Please get in touch for a quote for sizes R and above, as I’ll need to calculate the variation in metal weight for you.

Select Your Rhythm

I have designed 11 unique engraving styles (or "Rhythms") for you to choose from—you can see these in the Rhythm Chart in the product images. I use my own creative license to adapt your chosen rhythm to your specific ring size; while it may differ slightly from the inspiration image, it will be a very close likeness.

Your Birthstones

Please refer to my Birthstone Chart and list your stones in the text box. I prefer to list by stone rather than month as it helps me stay "in the zone" during the setting process!

  • The Sequence: If you have fewer stones than the pattern shows, I will create a repeating sequence of your chosen gems.
  • The Order: If you have a specific order in mind, please write them from Left to Right in the text box.

Stone Quality :

I use all-natural gemstones, with the exception of diamonds which are lab-grown (if you prefer natural diamonds, please message me for a quote).

Hallmarking :

I have all my gold and platinum pieces officially hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office with my personal ‘ELI’ makers mark. Silver is exempt, but I can have it hallmarked for you for an additional £45.

Lead Time :

I spend 4–6 weeks hand-crafting each piece from scratch. If you require the piece sooner please let me know at the time of ordering as it may be possible to work to your timeline.

Process & Story

The Hands Behind the Marks

I am a designer-maker and a graduate of the School of Jewellery in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. While I have been designing and making since my graduation, this collection is particularly special to me.

My journey into stone setting has been largely self-taught, fueled by my own curiosity and guided by tips from two close stone-setter contacts whom I respect immensely. I am so excited to have mastered these skills and to finally share my first collection of stone-set pieces with you.

The Important Bits

  • Because I engrave these patterns by hand and set delicate stones, getting your size right at the start is the kindest thing we can do for your ring! These pieces can't be easily stretched without affecting the artwork.

My recommendation: Pop into a local jeweler to be measured, or come visit me at my Ludlow studio for a coffee and a fitting! If we do need to resize later, I use a specialist laser expert to ensure your stones stay safe, but there is an additional cost for this.

Because of the intricate hand-engraved patterns and the delicate nature of some gemstones, getting your size right is the most important part of the process. These rings cannot be stretched, and the heat required for traditional resizing can spoil fragile stones.

    • My Advice: I strongly recommend being measured by a professional jeweller before you buy. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to visit my studio in Ludlow to have me measure you personally.
    • Resizing: If a resize is possible, there will be a charge. Depending on the stones, I may have to send the ring to my specialist laser contact in the Jewellery Quarter to protect the integrity of the piece.
  • Each piece is a labor of love, so please allow 4–6 weeks for me to craft it for you.

Fancy a trip to Ludlow? You’re more than welcome to collect your finished piece from my workshop—just select 'Local Pick-up' at checkout. Otherwise, I’ll send it via Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured and tracked to your door.
